Privacy Policy for Child Habits

            TL;DR - Your Privacy is Guaranteed: Child Habits has NO backend servers and ZERO data collection. All data stays on YOUR device. We cannot see, access, collect, or use any of your information—ever. We have no databases, no servers, and no way to access your data.
        

1. Where Your Data is Saved

When you create routines, add children, or track progress, here's exactly what happens:

Step 1: All data is automatically saved locally on your device using iOS secure storage

Step 2: If you enable iCloud sync, data syncs between YOUR devices privately—we are not involved

Step 3: Your data never leaves your device or Apple's iCloud (if enabled)

Child Habits stores the following data locally on your device only:

Routines: Routine names, steps, scheduled times, and step details
Child Profiles: Child names and avatar selections
Progress Data: Completion history, streaks, and statistics
Stone Entries: Manual stone entries and task assignments
App Preferences: Settings and customizations you make within the app

We do NOT collect:

Personal identifying information (names, emails, phone numbers)
Location data
Device information
Usage analytics
Crash reports
Any data about your children

2. Data Storage (Everything Stays On Your Device)

Local Storage Only: All data is stored on your device using iOS's secure storage
No Backend Infrastructure: We don't operate any servers, databases, cloud storage, or backend systems of any kind
No Remote Access: We have no technical capability to access, view, or retrieve any data from your device
No Data Transmission: Zero data is sent over the internet to us (because we have nowhere to receive it!)
iCloud Sync (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data syncs privately between your own devices via Apple's encrypted sync—we never touch this data

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Important: Child Habits is designed for families and may be used by children under 13. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy:

No Data Collection: We do not collect any personal information from children or adults
No Accounts Required: The app works without any registration or login
No Third-Party Sharing: We don't share data with anyone because we don't collect any
Parental Control: Parents have full control over all data and can delete everything at any time
No Advertising: The app contains no advertising and no third-party ad networks
No In-App Purchases: The app does not include in-app purchases that could be accessed by children

Parental Rights:

Parents can review all data stored in the app
Parents can delete all data at any time through Settings → Reset All Data
Parents can delete the app to permanently remove all data
No data is shared with third parties (we don't collect any)

4. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

Share your data with third parties
Sell your data
Use your data for advertising
Track your usage or behavior
Collect analytics or crash reports
Share children's data with anyone

5. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

Delete All Data: Delete the app or use Settings → Reset All Data to permanently remove all data
Export Data: All data can be viewed within the app (routines, progress, history)
No Account Required: Since there are no accounts, there's nothing to delete or manage
Full Control: You own and control all your data

6. GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Union, Child Habits complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Right to Access: All your data is accessible within the app
Right to Erasure: Delete all data anytime through Settings → Reset All Data
Right to Data Portability: All data is stored locally and can be accessed through the app
No Processing: We don't process any data because we don't collect any
Lawful Basis: No data collection means no processing requiring lawful basis

7. Security

Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security features. Since all data stays on your device and is never transmitted to any servers, the security of your data is entirely managed by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.).

Why No Backend is More Secure:

No servers means no server breaches
No databases means no database hacks
No data transmission means no interception risk
Your data can never leak from our servers because we don't have any

8. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to enable iCloud sync:

Data syncs between YOUR devices only (iPhone ↔ iPad)
Sync is managed by Apple's iCloud service
We have no access to your iCloud data
iCloud sync is completely optional—the app works fully without it
You can disable iCloud sync anytime in iOS Settings

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Third-Party Services

Child Habits does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or social media platforms. The only exception is Apple's iCloud service (if you choose to enable sync), which is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policies.
